Out of Knoxville take Hwy 129 South past the Knoxville Airport. Continue on Hwy 129 South into North Carolina, past Lake Santelah and the upper Fontana Dam. Stay on Hwy 129 South through the town of Robbinsville. This highway will continue another 12 miles until it dead ends into Hwy 19/74. Turn left onto Hwy 19/74 East. The first road on the right, Franklin Branch Road, is the entrance to Nantahala Mountain Resort. This trip will take you approximately 2 hours and is an extremely winding mountain road. |
